I am originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana. I lived in Fort Wayne 26 years, excluding the year and half I lived in Indianapolis earning my associates degree in Diesel Technology. I was in the automotive and diesel industry for a couple years before turning my attention to bicycles. My hobbies include biking, four wheelers, dirt bikes, Jeeps, camping, hiking and exploring. There is something so peaceful about being in the forest surrounded by nature.
From an early age my father tried to get my three brothers and I into biking. It wasn't until I was 24 that I really started embracing and falling in love with the biking world. I would take long rides down the country roads by my parents' house. They were some of the most inspiring rides I have ever done. Power lines and open fields of corn, soybeans and hay for miles. Almost zero traffic, excluding the combines and tractors I would have to pass. My father and I have also accomplished a handful of Hilly Hundred rides together in Bloomington Indiana, home of the Indiana Hoosiers. All these rides were done on my first road bike, a 2006 Trek 1000.
Fort Wayne has a fairly large mountain biking community as well. Franke Park is about ten miles from my parents' house and is home to some very cool trails, built and maintained by some very cool people from the local bike shop. I learned from them what it takes to make a bike shop great. Making people happy, community involvement and informing customers on the many bikes and accessories we carry, so they can make the correct decision on which bicycle to purchase, just to name a few.
The day after Thanksgiving 2012 we loaded up my father's Jeep and headed south. After a catnap in Alabama and twenty-four hours we were pulling up to my Grandparents condo on St. Pete Beach. Moving to Florida was the best decision of my life. I have met some really nice people and made some great friends. I love my job at ABC and I look forward to making your biking experience the best one possible.
My favorite biking trails include Brown County State Park, Franke Park, Morshes Park, Spring Mill State Park, the Pinhoti trail system, the Pinellas Trail and Alafia River State Park.
