- Do you repair bikes?
Yes we do. We fix everything. And we have the right parts and
tools to fix it correctly. We give free estimates for all repairs
and look in your best interests and needs when doing so. (top)
- Do you sell used bikes?
No we do not. Most of the time "used" bikes are "used
up." When someone is selling a used bike they are usually
interested in selling the bicycle, not making the customer happy.
B rand new bicycles are properly fit. They come with warranties
and service plans. When you buy a new bicycle, the shop is looking
to find the bicycle that benefits your needs. When you buy a used
bicycle, the seller is usually the one who is only satisfied.
(top)
- There are so many different types of bikes? Which one should
I buy?
We stress the fit and feel of the bicycle first. There are many
different categories of bicycles and it can be confusing. But,
if you ask yourself "what you need" and "what you
want the bicycle to do" you can quickly narrow your choices.
It is like walking into a shoe store. Now, that is confusing.
But, if you are looking to run and need a pair of shoes, you will
not start looking in the hiking boot section. Bicycles, like shoes,
are designed to satisfy a specific need. Knowing this will make
your search easier. (top)
- What size bike should I ride?
This is probably the most common question we hear. At ABC Bicycles
we stress the "fit and feel" of any bicycle we sell.
Bicycles need to be "tried on" like clothes or shoes.
Each type of bike feels different and each manufacturer's size
also fits differently.
The key to buying the right size bike is proper measurement and
test riding. Through test rides and rider input, the technician
that you are working with should be able to find the bicycle that
fits and feels the best and satisfies your needs as a bicycle
rider. (top)
- What if I do not find what I am looking for?
You can always ask. We can not bring in every item designed for
cycling. We have picked out what we feel are dependable products
that we enjoy selling to our customers. However, on several occasions
we have "special ordered" products for customers. It
is no problem. We will always try to get you want you want. So,
please do ask. (top)
- What do I get if I buy a bicycle from ABC Bicycles?
When you buy a bike from ABC Bicycles, you get a lifetime frame
warranty, a year warranty on all parts against manufacturing defects,
and six months free service from our shop*.
*certain exceptions may apply to certain products and you
may have to consult the company for all legal warranties.
(top)
- Why do I only get six months free service while other
shops offer lifetime adjustments?
We give six months free service because it stays fresh in your
mind. Because the bicycles are brand new, there is a break-in
period. Bolts will loosen up, shifter and brake cables will stretch
out, and tires will lose air.
In the first six months we will make sure that all of these problems
are solved. We are also able to see our bicycles and our customers
more often than if you had lifetime adjustments. If a customer
usually waits until there is a problem with his bicycle. It is
usually too late. We stress preventative maintenance in order
to save you money and time during your bicycle ownership. (top)
Finally, when I bought my car and someone offered me free lifetime
adjustments on it… would I really be getting the same service
as the guy who paid $600 for his car "tune up?" Again,
look in your best interests. Sometimes what seems to good to be
true… usually is. (top)
- What is your best deal on this bike?
All of our bicycles are sold at the lowest MSRP (manufacturer's
suggested retail price) that our vendors will allow. Our business
is based on relationships, both with our customers and our vendors.
Our excellent relationships with our vendors allow us to provide
you with the very best bicycles at the very best prices. (top)
- Will you price match on your products?
Yes. We will try our best to match any store's price on any item.
We still need to keep the doors open… so if it is truly
a better deal somewhere else… and we can not possible match
it, we will let you know. But, please understand that we will
do everything in our power to keep your business. (top)
- Are there other bikes comparable products to TREK
bicycles?
The only two brands of bicycles that that will compare to those
we sell, they are Specialized and Giant. These brands, like TREK,
will usually give you a wider variety of products, sizes, etc.
They will only appear in larger, older stores in our area. And
usually, these stores will offer technicians who can help you
in your bicycling experience. (top)
- Do you only work on TREK
Bicycles?
No. We work on all bicycles. We are a Trek Warranty Center for
all TREK,
Fisher, and LeMond bicycles, whether they were purchased from
us, or not. However, we have always worked on any bicycle….period.
(top)
- Do you deliver bikes?
Yes we do. We will always make it possible for you to get your
bicycle home. There is an additional charge for this service.
But once you get home on your new ride... you'll feel that it
was totally worth it. (top)
- I would like to take care of my bike, do you offer service classes?
Yes and no. We offer basic flat changing classes once a month
(Just call to check the schedule and availability). However,
we do not offer any classes that go any deeper than basic service
and maintenance.
We know that we have many customers who like to work on their
own bicycles. We are here to help you with whatever questions
you may have so that your bicycle will continue to run as well
as when it was new. (top)
- How often should a get a tune-up on my bicycle?
You should always have your bicycle examined by a technician once
a year. We always give free estimates in order to encourage more
preventative maintenance practices.
In most cases, if we see a customer's bicycle once or twice per
year, they normally get a tune-up once every two years. However,
every customer is different and uses his or her bicycle differently.
Just like your car, if you use it more, it usually gets oil changes
more often. So, just pay close attention to your bicycle when
you ride it. If you hear or feel something that just doesn't feel
right, bring it in. If not, bring it in once per year. (top)
